Montréal, October 2, 2006 - L-3 Communications MAPPS, a wholly owned subsidiary of L-3 Communications, announced today the appointment of Peter Dawson as president of L3 MAPPS effective September 20, 2006.

With over 33 years of experience in various industries, Mr. Dawson brings tremendous executive leadership and technical management expertise to L3 MAPPS, including his most recent position as general manager of Parker Hannifin Corporation's Control Systems Division located in Utah. Mr. Dawson has also been director of operations for Parker Hannifin Corporation and managing director and CEO for Otis Manufacturing Company. A demonstrated leader with a vast international business background, Mr. Dawson additionally served as director of manufacturing and engineering for Otis Elevator Singapore, Hong Kong and Latin America, and as managing director and CEO for Dynapert Delvotec GmbH located in Munich, Germany.

Mr. Dawson has a Bachelor of Technology degree in Mechanical Engineering from Brunel University and an Accounting Diploma from City of London Polytechnic, both in London, U.K.

L3 MAPPS has over 20 years of experience in pioneering technological advances in the marine automation field and over 30 years of experience in delivering high-fidelity power plant simulation to leading utilities worldwide. In addition, the company has more than three decades of expertise in supplying plant computer systems for Canadian heavy water reactors.
