President’s Profile

Bruce D. Trego is sector president for Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) Systems for the L3 Aerospace Systems segment of L3 Technologies. He also serves as president of L3 Mission Integration in Greenville, Texas, and oversees the ComCept and Aeromet divisions located in Rockwall, Texas, and Tulsa, Oklahoma, respectively.

L3 Mission Integration specializes in the modification, modernization and maintenance of a diverse group of mission aircraft. The company is a leader in advanced technologies for complete systems integration, signal processing, electronic countermeasures, sensor development and aircraft self-protection. With over 6,400 employees, it has the capability to support programs from initial development through total life-cycle management.

Trego has more than 40 years of management, engineering and field support experience in a broad spectrum of domestic and international defense programs. He has an extensive background in systems engineering, program management, project engineering and field support associated with developing, installing, testing and site support of complex electronic systems.

Trego served as interim president of L3’s Aircraft Systems sector and prior to that as vice president of reconnaissance programs in the ISR Systems sector. He also has served as president of L3 ComCept, a leader in networking ISR assets through machine-to-machine horizontal integration techniques.

Prior to joining ComCept, Trego served in several leadership positions with two worldwide developers of airborne and ground-based C4ISR systems for the U.S. military and international customers. Trego was previously director of systems engineering for Raytheon Aircraft Integration Systems (AIS) and spent most of his early career with Raytheon AIS and E-Systems. Trego has also headed the Big Safari and Special Operations Forces lines of business at Lockheed Martin Skunk Works in Palmdale, California.

Trego began his career in the intelligence field serving with the U.S. Army Security Agency as an electronic warfare specialist and later becoming an instructor in Telemetry Identification and Collection.

Trego holds a Master of Business Administration from Southern Methodist University and a Bachelor of Science in computer science from Texas A&M University-Commerce.
