Robert C. Kline
President, L3 Space and Sensors

Robert (Bob) Kline is president of L3 Space and Sensors, a group of L3 businesses focused on the development and production of sensor systems for advanced space, airborne and ground systems as well as space qualified electronics supporting launch and satellite systems.

Prior to his recent appointment as president of L3 Space and Sensors, Bob was president of L3 Warrior Systems, a global leader in the development and production of advanced night vision and electro-optical technology and systems for the U.S. military, federal agencies, public safety, and international markets. At Warrior Systems, Bob played a key role in broadening the company’s capabilities to meet the growing demand for high performance night vision goggles, aiming lasers, weapon sights, and laser rangefinders and designators.

Before joining L3, Bob served in several executive positions at Raytheon Vision Systems, including director of business development and Tactical Infrared Sensors product line director, with responsibilities for the U.S. Army’s Standard Advanced Dewar Assembly (SADA II), Javelin Infrared Detector Assembly, and the Thermal Weapon Sight programs. Prior to joining Raytheon Vision Systems in 1998, Bob was senior vice president of Raytheon Amber Engineering. He started his career in the aerospace industry in 1984 with the Space and Strategic Engineering Division of Hughes Aircraft Company, where he held positions in both program and line management.

Bob is a 10 year veteran of the U.S. Air Force, where he began his career in the Strategic Air Command as an electronics technician on the SR-71 “Blackbird” reconnaissance aircraft. After receiving his commission as a second lieutenant, he was assigned to the Air Force’s Space and Missile Command at Los Angeles AFS and later the Space Technology Center at Kirkland AFB. Bob holds B.S. in electrical engineering from the University of Oklahoma.
